Keeping Good Volunteers
EXPERIENCE
Enjoyment is key to retention - when people stop enjoying their role, they tend to stop volunteering.
MANAGE
If volunteers are clear about their role and responsibilities they are more likely to feel confident about what they should be doing. Think about having a volunteer coordinator and using 'role descriptions' when recruiting.
CONNECT
Communicate with and listen to your volunteers. As well as meetings and emails think about social media, social events, surveys.
RECOGNISE & REWARD
Make sure your volunteers know they are valued, Reward and recognise both formally and informally - more info on the rewarding volunteers tab.
