Herefordshire Cricket Review "gathers pace"

Further to the recent announcement that Adrian Collins (Chair Shropshire Cricket and West Midlands County Cricket Boards) has been undertaking a review of Herefordshire Cricket, the Board met last night to receive an update on his findings and actions over the coming months as follows.

The full review is expected to be completed by Dec 31st, 2022, and a report published in January 2023
As part of the review there has already been widespread consultation internally and externally including Directors, Staff, various clubs as well as other interested parties.
Adrian has produced an interim set of actions to be taken as soon as is practicable.
 

Items to be actioned in the immediate future are as follows –

New reporting structure for Staff and Directors
New agreements to be set in place regarding the administration of the Adult League programme – namely the Marches League
Prepare a 2023 budget that will put Club and Community Cricket at the heart of delivery in the County incl special emphasis on Womens and Girls Cricket
Ensure the forthcoming ECB audits in Safeguarding, ECB Partnership Review, County Club with NCCA and Chance to Shine are concluded with successful and clear outcomes for the betterment of Cricket in the County
Enable the Staff to deliver all the above on a time and cost-effective basis through performance managed processes.
 

As a result of Adrian’s early findings, the Board have tasked Richard Cox to oversee the first five recommendations and to report back on December 8th, 2022.

Speaking after the meeting Chair Dave Phillips commented ‘ it’s clear that Adrian’s interim report has thrown up several areas where we have many things in place to successfully kick on and deliver Cricket across the County. However, having recently attended meetings with ECB we have much work to do in order to be more cohesive in the planning and delivering of Cricket to the communities of Herefordshire. Considering this we have appointed Richard to lead on taking action to execute the changes on an interim basis to get everyone pointing in the same direction. Richard will be with us on a part time basis whilst we assess the full impacts required from Adrian’s reports. ‘’
