9 years ago | By Edd Oliver
Two young female cricketers have recently celebrated outstanding seasons for Herefordshire, winning two awards each at the Herefordshire Cricket Junior Presentation evening.
Chloe Tingle won the awards for best Girls U13s and U15s bowler, and Harriet Shuker won the Girls U13s batting award, and also Female cricketer of the year for 2016. Both girls were also presented with their county colours ties, becoming the first girls in Herefordshire to receive them.
For the 2016 season the two girls finished as the top 2 wicket-takers in all Herefordshire age groups (for both boys & girls), with Chloe taking 32 wickets and Harriet 30 wickets.
As well as that the girls were nominated for a National Festivals U13s representative team, and were both selected to play 2 T20 games at Malvern College in August, against Kent U15s and The Netherlands U15s. Subsequently they were selected to play against Lancashire Women’s U19s team, playing against girls that were up to 7 years older than them.
Recently both girls have been selected in an U15s National Girls team to tour Barbados in August 2017, where they will be playing 3 matches during their stay, including one match under floodlights.
Congratulations to both girls on their outstanding seasons.
