Under 12s at Shrewsbury Festival

5 years ago   |   By Stephen Watkins

Half way through a great festival at Shrewsbury school with Herefordshire Cricket U11s started with a great win on Monday against Shropshire. A hard day in the sun on Tuesday against Derbyshire resulting in a loss, but a lot of positives.

Today the boys beat Northamptonshire in a 20/20 match with 9 balls to spare thanks to 54 from James Hellyar Matt F 21 Archie L 16 and good support from Elliot T 15 no and Jonnie T 9no to chase down the 128 set by Northants.

We played Berkshire in the group final and asked to bat first, scoring was hard, we ended up scoring 85- 8 off our 20. Hard going but good to see the boys work hard and not give away their wickets, another good knock from James H 20, Jonnie T 14 Hugh N 12.

It was always going to be difficult to defend a small total but the boys worked hard and did manage to take 2 wickets but lost in 10 overs.

A massive learning curve over three days but two wins two losses including a main county side, lots of fun and laughter and skill development, these boys are amazing

Thanks to Jamie Langford for all his support, boys were very happy this evening
