A Winning Night for Eastnor Cricket Club at Hereford Awards Ceremony

EASTNOR Cricket Club enjoyed a successful evening when Herefordshire Cricket held their awards night at Hereford FC’s Hereford Suite.

The Clenchers Mill Lane organisation was named Community Club of the Year while president Dave Entwistle received a Services to Cricket Award and Annie Branch, who masterminds the club’s catering output at the many representative games held at the ground, was named a Cricket Hero.

Additionally, chairman Jim Sandford was named as the first winner of the Nigel Shore Legacy Award, presented by Bartestree & Lugwardine CC in memory of their late chairman and to be given annually to an individual for outstanding development, dedication and contribution to a club and cricket in the community.

The annual Rob Staite award for volunteer of the year went to Brockhampton’s Adam Hewlett with a special evening for the Hewlett family rounded off when Adam’s daughter Amber received the award for Under-13 girls bowler of the year.

Coach of the year award went to Abi Griffiths while club player of the year went to Woolhope’s Dom Larkin.

Ceremonial caps were awarded to Richard Skyrme and Matt Pardoe for achieving the landmark of 100 first-team Herefordshire matches as player and/or coach.

Dave Exall, Harshad Patel and Chris Boroughs, who have also completed that significant achievement, will be presented with similar awards later in the season.

Contribution to Community Cricket: Chris Carter (Walking Cricket).

Disability Cricketer of the Year: Ewan Barry.
