Captain Of Herefordshire's NEW Women's Team Announced

29 Mar 2025 | By Richard Cox
Chloe Tingle has been announced as the new Captain of the Herefordshire Women's Cricket Team for the 2025 season. Chloe hails from Ross on Wye originally and has been playing her club cricket in the county for Brockhampton Women in recent years as well as studying in Cardiff. A right-hand top order batter and seamer Chloe will lead the team from the front given her recent experiences in County Cricket where she has also been training with Worcestershire over the winter period.
Tingle said today "I have played in this county for a long time now and Women's hard ball Cricket here has sort of meandered around a bit but this Winter has been really exciting to see all of the counties get set for the new Tiered season with the Pros up top in Tier 1 – then the semi professional set ups in Tier 2 and now its Herefordshire’s turn to get stuck in to this. When Richard asked me about the Captaincy this week it was moment to reflect and then to say I am truly honoured and delighted to accept.
It means a great deal to have Richards and HCLs trust and support, and I am excited about leading the team forward. I look forward to working closely with the Staff and the squad to build on our strengths and continue progressing together.’’
Also Hamburg born dual national and also a German International Cricketer Tina Gough will be joining Herefordshire for the 2025 season as part of the T20 squad. On joining Herefordshire Gough said "Over the winter I have been thinking about the new ECB set up and where I might fit in. So when Richard met me at an overseas tournament in the Winter and detailed the vision for the Womens team I couldn’t wait to get involved.
We go back a long way from our time at Warwickshire together and of course our commitments in Europe so it will be great to join forces again and see what we can do. I am really looking forward to working with Chloe and some younger players and seeing them develop in the same way so many people have helped me. Although I can’t commit to all the games this Summer due to work (in Germany)but I will play the lions share and can’t wait to get started".
Richard Cox General Manager of Cricket in Herefordshire said ‘ we are looking to build a new team to compete in the ECB Tier 3 structure by providing local players like Chloe the opportunity to play and learn with better players. Tina fits that mould perfectly and her record speaks for itself. We are all looking forward to an exciting rebirth of Women's Cricket in Herefordshire.’
The full squad and back-room staff will be announced in the coming days whilst the experienced Sue Watkins of Brockhampton CC and a Board Director for Women's Cricket will Manage the Team.
The first games are on Sunday April 20th when Herefordshire take on Northumberland Away at Corbridge CC. Fixtures here - Herefordshire Cricket
