Could You Be Part of the Herefordshire Cricket Pathway in 2027?
Herefordshire Cricket is looking ahead to the 2027 season, with opportunities for boys and girls to become involved in our cricket pathway – from youngsters who may never have picked up a cricket bat before, through to experienced players looking to represent the county.

Our Early Engagement Programme (EEP) is aimed at identifying young sporting potential at U12 and below, while our County Age Groups from U13-U18 (CAG) provide opportunities for players to play representative cricket.

Early Engagement Programme – Boys & Girls U12 and Below
Could cricket be their sport?

We are looking for sporty and enthusiastic boys and girls U12 and below to become involved in our Early Engagement Programme.  Importantly, children do not need to have played cricket before.

They might currently play football, hockey, rugby, netball or tennis, enjoy athletics, or simply be a naturally sporty child who loves being active and learning new skills.

The EEP is about identifying young people with sporting potential and giving them the opportunity to discover cricket and develop their skills within the Herefordshire Cricket pathway.

We are particularly interested in youngsters who demonstrate qualities such as athleticism, hand-eye coordination, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and a love of sport.

Who can register?

The Herefordshire EEP is for Herefordshire youngsters or those for whom Herefordshire is their nearest EEP centre.  Register your interest by 11th September HERE

Boys County Age Group Observations  Register HERE
We are inviting eligible players to attend our Boys County Age Group observations for the 2027 season.

U13 & U14  📍 Halo Sports Centre, Bridge Street, Leominster
📅 Friday 16th & 23rd October  ⏰ 6.00–8.00pm

U16 & U18  📍 Halo Sports Centre, Bridge Street, Leominster
📅 Saturday 17th & 24th October  ⏰ 10.00am–12.00pm

Due to our partnership with Worcestershire, boys who live within the current county boundary of Worcestershire may also be eligible.

Girls County Age Group Observations  Register HERE
Our Girls County Age Group observations will also take place during October.

U14  📍 Whitecross School
📅 Wednesday 7th & 14th October  ⏰ 6.30–8.30pm

U16  📍 Whitecross School
📅 Tuesday 6th & 13th October  ⏰ 6.30–8.30pm

County Age Group Eligibility
To attend County Age Group observations for Herefordshire, players must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Live in Herefordshire; and/or
• Attend school in Herefordshire; or
• Play for a Herefordshire cricket club and have played at least three games for that club
• The additional Worcestershire eligibility outlined above applies to the Boys programme due to our partnership with Worcestershire.

Which Programme Is Right for My Child?
U12 or below and new to cricket?
Our Early Engagement Programme could be the ideal place to start. Previous cricket experience isn't necessary – we're interested in sporting potential.

Already playing cricket and moving into U13 and above?
Our County Age Group observations provide the opportunity to be considered for the Herefordshire pathway and county age-group squads.

Whether they are already passionate about cricket or are a talented young sportsperson who has yet to discover the game, we'd love to see the next generation of Herefordshire players take the next step on their cricket journey.
